Happy New Year, everyone! I’m not much of the New Years Resolution type, I just don’t like putting that much pressure on myself. I’d rather set goals and create a rough plan for my year instead so that I’m setting my self up for success. Which is much better in my opinion than the “New Year-New Me” posts littering facebook this time of the year. I get it is great for accountability, but I just feel like its a new way to seek attention in hopes people will see you in a new light.
Anyways, I want to start the new year manifesting my personal and professional goals. Manifesting can be done in a variety of ways, some people like to pray while others like to visualize or use affirmations. I prefer to create a set of goals, make vision boards and revisit these almost daily. The art of manifesting is visualizing a goal, need or want and attracting it to yourself. Its a practice I’ve learned to do and been successful at in the past.
Spend more quality time with my loved ones
Putting down my phone in another room, shutting it off and creating a schedule for work. Most of the time it’s hard for me to do work while Penelope’s awake, so I want to dedicate a few hours a day (early mornings, naps or late nights) for doing work. The rest should be spending time with her and Tony without distractions.
Invest in my physical health
I’ve already joined a gym, but I would love to spend more time with a trainer once or twice a week. I also plan on doing pilates and yoga again this year. I want to see the results and feeling like myself in clothes again!
I want to learn more about nutrition because I truly believe food is medicine. Eating well makes me feel good, and I want to understand what foods work for me and what don’t. Which also means cooking my own meals and be more adventurous with the recipes.
Eat Less Meat
My parents were both Vegan until I was 7 so I grew up eating a lot of vegetarian and vegan meals. Recently I’ve been very inspired to eat like that again and I’ve bought a few vegan cookbooks. Once a week I want to try something new and cut out animal products altogether.
Save more money
I am manifesting myself saving money this year, its something I’ve been trying to work on forever now. I want to pay off my credit card before summer and have money left over to reinvest in my blog every month. I plan on meeting with a financial adviser sometime in the new year, the sooner the better.
Use less plastic
There are so many ways we can create less waste, especially plastic waste. I’ve been reusing plastic containers, refilling at bulk food places and zero waste shops. As parents, we don’t buy plastic toys, and if we get something it’s usually used or thrifted (unless its a present from family).
This past year we have watched a lot of television, and it makes me feel a bit guilty. My parents were very proactive about not allowing tv time during the day, and we were forced to read more books. I want the same for Penelope because books are a portal to new worlds and adventures that most kids don’t take advantage of anymore. This year we will be decreasing screen time increasing imaginative play and reading.
See a therapist
I’ve wanted to see a therapist for so long now, and I am a huge advocate for mental health. It would be good for Tony and me to go as well, heck I even want my parents to go! Therapy should be on everyone’s list this year. I think we all have personal issues that need to be dealt with, along with things like overeating and a few other neurotic issues.
Grow the blog
This space has grown so much in the last 11 months and I have BIG plans for it this coming year. I want to triple the monthly growth by collaborating with other women and men, post consistently and create high-quality content.
Post more and Grow Youtube
I’ve had my youtube channel for like 6 years and my goal is to post a video on the blog every single week. I’m not going to be too strict or hard on myself over this. But it’s a goal that I feel like I can do. Also filming and editing high-quality content will be able to grow my YouTube Channel.
Stress Less but Post More on Instagram
I plan on posting 2 – 3 times a day, less filtered more on brand posts. I want to make stories fun to watch, share 3 things every single day that either inspire, relate or educate my audience. Of course, I want to collaborate and engage more to grow a bigger following.
I’m manifesting our audience growth this year and getting the word out about SPVLiving being inspiring and relatable to other women. I truly believe we are a supportive and amazing community filled with women (and men) who share similar interests. We all want to live a beautiful life right?
This is one I need to be very proactive about and submit articles because its something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time. I have all the emails and contacts I just need to find a topic that fits and send it! Giving myself a deadline for this.
Invest Money in the Blog
This is something I talked about earlier, but I want to hire a freelance photographer and graphic designer this year. I also plan on traveling a lot more, testing more beauty products and experimenting with my style a bit more which all costs money to do so.
Collaborate with others
I have a dream of interviewing people and listening to their stories. I think that would make entertaining videos and maybe even be on a podcast in the future.
To sum it all up, this year I plan on manifesting turning this blog into a full-time brand. I want to spend as much time being present with my family and focusing more on my health and wellness.
I would love to know what some of your strategic goals are this year? & you can follow me for more inspiration on Pinterest.1
