It’s hard to believe I’ll be turning 29 this year, and I’ve begun celebrating a week early by booking a girl’s weekend at One King West Hotel in Toronto and got us tickets to the Blog It Conference which was hosted at this cute little bar called Pray Tell.
You can read what I brought with me and my tips on packing for a girl’s weekend here.
We had such a great time staying a One King West, and I just wish we could have stayed a little longer. We originally booked a suite in the Historic Suit’s but we were upgraded to a room with a view of the city so I could take some really nice pictures.
What initially caught my attention was the history and characteristics of this hotel. It was originally Michie & Co Grocery store that was later bought by a bank and finally this hotel which has done a great job holding true to the original splendor of the building.
The rooms were really nice and very clean, which I always appreciate. Our view was stunning and there was tons of room for all our things. I did want to include how impressed I was with the room service because it was delicious and their portions sizes were good too. The hotel has basically everything you need, including a gym and a bar. The only two things I need lol.
That night we had the valet park our car, got an uber and went to dinner at Tellers Bar and walked back. Our hotel is perfect walking distance from pretty much anything downtown, and I did a lot of damage going shopping at the Eaton’s Centre.
What we ate
The first night we went to Teller’s Bar which is always amazing! I highly recommend going if you’re in the neighborhood, try the Pan-seared Rainbow Trout with lentils, beans and shrimp.
In the mornings I’d wake up and go to Cafe Plenty for a coffee and croissant. I’ve been there a time or two in the past and it’s consistently good coffee, with very European looking decor.
We also made a run to Booster Juice for the Meaner Mocha. It is actually a delicious blend of Arabica cold brew, chocolate almond milk and vanilla frozen yogurt.
The next night we decided to go to my favorite places, which is Restoration Hardware Courtside Cafe in Yorkdale. I always get the Kale Caesar to start and either the Simple Prep of Fish or the Slow-Roasted Chicken.
Favorite places to shop
Anyway, I can’t wait for our next girls’ trip, which will hopefully be early 2020. I am definitely going to try and book another stay at this hotel and maybe see a concert downtown
Where was the last place you traveled to? let me know in the comments.0
