I’ll admit that I totally enjoy co-sleeping. I loved the newborn snuggles, that smell and I especially loved when I figuring out how feed her while still being able to sleep. Eighteen short months later, I wakeup clinging to the sides of our once big king size bed that feels like the three of us are now sharing a double. Those long, lanky limbs are now sprawled in every direction, tucked precisely behind in my ribs as I try to roll over.
I think most parents can relate to this scenario, and first on my list is to get Penelope a big girl bed that will be big enough for me as well. I imagine getting her to sleep in her bed alone won’t be a walk in the park, but hopefully with a few restless nights I will be able to sneak out of her room and into our own bed.
I am very into the desert vibes for our bedrooms lately, picture Palm Springs but with a bit of a modern twist. I like sticking to a neutral palette with pops of burn orange and blush, and adding textures from the wood, baskets and pillows.
This may be the key to surviving the next few weeks while Penelope gets used to sleeping in her own bed. I wanted to find a bed that will stay with her for years, and potentially pass on to other siblings in the future so it has to be made of quality materials.
After lots of research, I have fallen in love with Rattan Beds! I don’t know why, but it reminds me of a tropical vacation or outdoor furniture which I love. I’ve narrowed down my choices to two beds and both are from Crate & Barrel. The decision will ultimately be based upon which fits better, the single or the double.
Since we’re decorating this for a toddler, I want to make it as visually appealing as possible while still remaining in a neutral selection.
I love polka dots for a child’s room and instead of them being perfectly symmetrical, I’d rather have hand sketched wall decals like these from Etsy or even a beautiful print to hang like this one.
I am obsessed with fiddles! I have one in my office and I love it, but sadly there just isn’t enough natural light for a real tree in Penelope’s room. Instead I found this faux fiddle from Etsy, and this one from Amazon.
The rug I choose for her room are natural fibre rugs from Rugs USA. I’ve herd so much good things about this company so I am excited to choose between this neutral rug, or if I’m feeling really bold this fun pink rug. Either way I know its going to look amazing.
These beautiful Ruched Wave Quilt sheets are the prettiest things I’ve ever seen, and Im totally ordering another set for our bedroom.
Last but not least, my absolute obsession is with these light fixtures from Anthropologie and I would spend $248.00 all over again, because I love them that much.
Do you love to decorate? I seriously live for these projects and I recently shared our Master Bedroom Makeover on the blog. I love seeing all the fall decor posts lately, and I plan on having one up next week for you all!
