This was actually a reader suggested topic that I thought would be a great post to share today. I recently got prepared and changed our bedding for the fall and winter months ahead. I’m not sure if that’s something that everyone does especially if you live in a colder climate, but it’s something my mom did for us as kids too. I suppose I could split this up into two separate posts, one for kids and one for everyone else. But then again I would rather do a giant resource for the whole family.
So I’m currently sitting in my bed writing this, listening to the rain and I couldn’t feel more content. One of my favorite things about fall is making seasonal changes indoors as well. From the food we eat, the clothes we wear and you guessed it, the bedding we sleep under.
Master Bedroom Bedding for the Fall and Winter
Linen is commonly pulled out in the warmer summer months, thanks to the breathable and highly absorbent material. I love how linen sheets keep you cool and dry, and I know it’s not normally something you want in the winter, but have you tried a linen quilt? I’ve recently for our bedroom, they’re much heavier and durable than other quilts. To my surprise, Tony really loved them, because it reminds him of a weighted blanket.
Toddler Bedroom for the Fall and Winter
Finding information for toddler beds online was so much harder than I thought. It just seems like there are so many things you shouldn’t do, and I’m not a specialist, professional, or obviously a doctor. But I will tell you what WE do for Penelope’s room, and what works for us.
I’ve just ordered Penelope’s new sheets because I was so over her bedding we bought her. Every time I would put her to bed, I was so uncomfortable with the slippery feeling sheets. I ended up ordering her an entirely new bed set from Pottery Barn, with a lightweight Quilt from Amazon that I freaking love! The Amazon sheets are also amazing, I used them in our last guest bedroom, and I honestly should buy them again.
Now that we’re all ready with our bedding for the fall and winter months, it’s time to check in on the rest of the house. What are some things you do in your home to get ready for the colder weather?
