When I first became a mom I knew as soon as I had Penelope that there was no way I could leave her and go back to Teaching. At the time I had so many obstacles to get through first, among them was loosing an income, support outside of our home and family and of course my inner critic.

I promised myself that as soon as I could I would find a way to support other moms who are facing the choices I did. So when @thetotalmomshow reached out to see if I could share their initiative and conference with my readers I immediately jumped at the chance.

When your on a budget but you still want your home to look good, and more importantly feel good.

Today’s #feelgoodhomemakeover is our laundry closet. It reminds me a lot of our condo’s tiny laundry closet, except now we do a lot more laundry and I NEEDED a space I didn’t feel anxious walking into.

My mission is to love with our home between renovations and projects. I want to it to be an “pretty-organized” mess (as I like to say).

So if your laundry room is looking like a mess just know it’s a quick fix that’s also budget friendly.

From the time I was young I had always loved designing and styling my room, I even made a design plan for my parents house when I was 8. 😂

I always thought beautiful was a feeling. It was the way a simple vignette made me feel, or the way our patio looked on a summer evening. It was about creating a space that looked beautiful and safe to me and my family.

Even thou we will eventually have to take the new faucet off, just to put in new counter tops on. I still love this budget friendly update! Oh and it’s renter friendly too!

We also shared why we decided to start renovating the house again, what happened this past weekend that made us decide this and of course a quick review on this faucet.

In our home things don’t usually stay in one place for long. I’m constantly moving furniture, and shopping our home. I feel like there’s always something I can change that will feel like magic somewhere else.

- paint the deck
- re-design the kitchen

- My name is Stephanie and I’m half Ojibway and half Czech.
- I’m a (soon to be) mom of two.
- I grew up on a reservation in Ontario.
- It was an island and we used to drive to the ferry dock, take a ferry ⛴ and then a bus 🚌 just to get to school every day.
- I’ve travelled many different places, and my dad (before he retired at 30) was an aircraft engineer so we got to experience a lot of different things as a kid.
- you can imagine the things I also saw growing up on a reserve..which is why:
- I wanted to teach, and got my Early Childhood Education degree because I wanted to work in low income schools.
- I started a blog in 2018 after I had my daughter, when I realized I didn’t want to leave her.
- Tony and I have been best friends since I was 12. It’s like I get to wake up every day to hang out with my best friends for the rest of my life.
- I also went to school for fashion and design, fashion studies, shortly studied design, (I literally couldn’t make up my mind what I wanted to do)

There’s so much more but that’s just a bit about me that you might now know!

This March Break sure looks different than previous years, but I promise there’s still plenty of ways to have fun and to spark your kids imagination along the way!
