As promised, todays post is on kids’ crafts and storage ideas. The other day I shared our arts and crafts and how I store them. I got a ton of questions from people wanting to know where the bins were from, what kind of paper we use and if I had any ideas for arts and craft for toddlers.
I decided that I didn’t want to overwhelm you with our full collection of crafts just yet. But I am sharing an open-ended play idea we’ve been loving lately.
Our Favorite Arts and Crafts
When I work in daycares and elementary schools we would rotate our crafts and toys. Which is now what I do every month, and its great because Penelope doesn’t get sick of playing with the same things all the time. Plus she gets so excited when I bringing out something she hasn’t seen in a long time.
This week we have been doing a lot of open-ended play, which is anything that doesn’t have a specific outcome. We like the roll of paper for coloring because it keeps her occupied for a good 20 – 30 minutes. After that, I usually have to go sit and draw with her.
These coloring posters are another great idea for arts and crafts. They do come in different sizes and I use large posters at home and take these smaller posters with a bag of crayons in the car when we travel.
There are also tons of ways for children to develop new skills, like coloring or using kid-friendly scissors. Which is her new obsession but just note that it’s a good idea to be clear that they are only for paper. Of course, they are meant for children so they can’t do too much damage.
How to Store Kids Arts and Crafts
One thing I hate is clutter, and messy rooms.
As for the bigger stuff like the rolls of paper and giant coloring books, I store them in stackable bins at the bottom of her closet.
I like when things have a specific spot and place because its just less clutter and everything is easy to find. Anyway, I hope this help you find kids’ crafts and storage ideas. I know I’m always looking for ways to store my childs things so they aren’t invading the rest of the house.
Also, you can shop any of the photos in the slider above, and it will bring you directly to that store.
Just a note about the Container store all you have to do is change the country in the top right-hand corner to ship to Canada. I personally like shopping there because of their selection, and I’ve never had an issue so far.0
