It’s amazing how much our styles change over time, especially if you are constantly updating your home like we are. When we first bought our home almost three years ago (this November), I had a very different idea for our bedroom design. Boho styled bedrooms were all the rage back then, and I was sure we were going to love it for years to come. Turns out, we’re not really “boho people” lol.
I read an article a few weeks ago (that I can’t find) but it was talking about how you should take your time designing your home, and not rush the process. The article said it’s important because your home’s true style needs to be found over time. Which means buying all your furniture all at once can sometimes feel like a mistake later on.
Turns out we are traditional people, we like neutral colors, classic furniture, and vintage art. We have learned more about ourselves over the past few years and we now understand the designs we love more too.
Why we sold our bed

You may remember our last headboard (see here), which was the headboard I was sure we were going to love forever. But after doing more research and planning our bedroom redesign I knew we had to sell our bed.
Let me just say, that I hate selling our stuff. I always feel so attached to things, but I also believe it’s necessary. If you aren’t 100% in love with something in your home, sell it! There will be someone else will love it and that item will fit their design aesthetic more.
Anyway, after I sold our bed I went straight to my computer to order a new bed from Article. By that point we already knew what we were looking for in a bed, and I’ve always loved the look of Article’s furniture.

My Review of the Tessu Bed from Article
One thing I knew we needed in a bed was for it to be sturdy. My husband is pretty tall and heavy (sorry hun ;). But last time Tony and Penelope were playing he jumped on the end of the bed and broke the bed frame. Needless to say, he’s now banned from jumping on any beds.
Since I shared it on Instagram I’ve been asked several times to give my review of the Tessu Bed from Article. So I figured I’d lay out a few pros for you:
- Fast delivery to Ontario
- Easy delivery (the delivery guys did all the work)
- Easy to put together
- So far it’s study, does not move
- The colour we choose was perfect and exactly what it looked like online
- Over all we were happy with the size and height
I was going to talk about cons but there honestly isn’t a lot I would change. Except I personally don’t like putting furniture together with an Allen key but I know its more practical for a lot of people.

But I hope my review of the Tessu Bed from Article, and my story of why we decided to sell our furniture, inspired you to give the room you’ve been unhappy with a little makeover too! Plus if you’re looking for more DIY tips and design inspiration I’ve got you covered too.

Thank you for writing this review-loving how your room turned out! I think I am convinced on purchasing this bed now! 🙂 What colour is this – the glaze grey or the clay taupe??
Hey Kylie!
It’s a great bed, looks good and honestly the price is good too. Ours is the clay taupe. It’s a beautiful grey colour, and I need to update the pictures now that it’s spring and it just looks a lot lighter in our bedroom now.
Hope you have a great day! Let me know if you have anymore questions 🙂
